Tirana, 5 June 2026 – ADGF Strengthens Support for the Microfinance Sector through Partnership with ASF – Agro Social Fund
The Albanian Development Guarantee Foundation (ADGF) and ASF – Agro Social Fund have signed a new cooperation agreement under the EU Western Balkans Guarantee Programme, expanding access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Albania.
The agreement was signed by Ms. Gertjana Drita, Executive Director of ADGF, and Ms. Rozana Orozi, Executive Director of ASF – Agro Social Fund, reaffirming the shared commitment of both institutions to supporting entrepreneurship development and financial inclusion across the country.
This partnership marks an important step in strengthening the role of the microfinance sector in fostering economic development by enabling the use of European Union-backed guarantee instruments to increase lending capacity and facilitate financing for businesses that face challenges in securing the collateral required for access to credit.
Through this agreement, ASF – Agro Social Fund will integrate the guarantee mechanism into its financial operations, creating additional opportunities for financing enterprises, productive investments, and sustainable economic development, particularly in areas where financing needs remain significant.
The EU Western Balkans Guarantee Programme, supported by the European Union, aims to improve access to finance for businesses across the Western Balkans region by encouraging investment, promoting job creation, and supporting the alignment of regional economies with European standards.
This agreement further reinforces ADGF’s commitment to collaborating with financial and microfinance institutions in order to build a more inclusive, resilient, and supportive financial ecosystem for the development of the private sector in Albania.
