Risk and Compliance Officer

The Risk and Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the institution’s risk management, compliance, and reporting functions. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, partner financial institutions, and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, effective risk monitoring, and compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the CFO & Risk Manager in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and implementation of risk mitigation policies;
- Prepare quarterly risk management reports for the Risk Committee, covering credit, liquidity, foreign exchange, operational, and contingent risks;
- Serve as Secretary to the Risk Committee, supporting meetings, agendas, and minutes;
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and monitor relevant regulatory developments;
- Review processes, identify areas for improvement, and investigate non-compliance or irregularities, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up;
- Prepare portfolio, risk, and compliance-related reports for Management and the Board of Directors;
- Maintain accurate records and documentation and support external audits and other verifications as required;
- Prepare periodic reports for donors on credit guarantee activities, including environmental and social aspects, in line with predefined templates.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields;
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in risk management, compliance, or auditing, preferably within banks or financial institutions;
- Strong analytical and reporting skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools;
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
